Everything on this site that gathers people in one place is covered here. Weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries and vow renewals, corporate events, charters afloat, and the larger public occasions: concerts, festivals and parish celebrations. Each has its own page below, because each is a genuinely different brief rather than the same shoot with a different guest list.

What they have in common

The scale, the crowd and the light change, but three things do not. The aerial window is the hour around sunset, not the small hours. Flying directly over people is never permitted, so the frames come from the perimeter and from height. And the permission has to be settled before the date rather than argued on the day.

Parties, and the smaller gatherings

A birthday at a beach shack, an anniversary lunch at a villa, a party on a chartered boat: these photograph badly from the ground, because there is no crowd to fill the frame and the setting is the entire point. From the air the coastline does that work. They are also the easiest to arrange, since a private venue usually needs only the owner to agree.

The dusk window is the shot

For any evening occasion, large or small, the aerial coverage worth having happens in the ninety minutes around sunset — the venue lit, the sky still holding colour, the crowd arriving. An hour later, in full darkness, a drone sensor produces noise rather than footage. We plan the flights for that window deliberately, and cover the rest of the evening from the ground.

This is also what the regulations require. Indian aviation rules permit drone operations from civil dawn to civil dusk, so evening aerials are flown before twilight ends. It is one of the few cases where the legal constraint and the good decision are the same thing.

Crowds, and flying around them

Flying directly above a gathering of people is not permitted, and it is not how good event aerials are shot anyway. We work the perimeter, the elevation and the oblique angles — which puts the venue, the stage and the scale of the crowd in frame without ever being over anyone's head.

Ground coverage as well

Most event clients need photographs more than they need aerials. We shoot both: documentation through the day, performance and congregation coverage through the evening, and the aerial sequence slotted into the window where it works. One team, one invoice, one consistent look across the whole set.

Permissions take time

Public events in Goa frequently sit inside controlled airspace, and venues near Dabolim need clearance that is not granted the same afternoon. District authorities also issue short-notice prohibitions around VIP visits. We start the clearance process the moment a date is confirmed, and we tell you early if a location is not flyable rather than on the day.

Questions

Before you book

Can you fly a drone at night, after the event starts?

Not without specific night-operations approval, which is rare. Indian aviation regulations permit drone flights between civil dawn and civil dusk. In Goa that means aerial coverage of an evening event is flown in the roughly ninety minutes around sunset, before twilight ends. In practice this is also when the footage is best — the venue lit against a sky that still has colour. Aerials shot in full darkness on a drone sensor are noisy and rarely usable, so very little is lost. We cover the rest of the evening from the ground.

Can you fly over the audience?

No, and no licensed operator will. Flying above a gathering of people is prohibited. We shoot from the perimeter, from height and at oblique angles, which puts the crowd, the stage and the scale of the event in frame safely. The shots people actually remember from event aerials are the wide establishing ones, not the top-down.

How much notice do you need for permissions?

A week is comfortable, two is better. Many Goa venues sit inside controlled airspace — anywhere near Dabolim, which is a joint civil and military airfield, needs clearance that takes days rather than hours. District authorities also issue short-notice drone prohibitions around VIP visits, which we check close to the date. If a location turns out not to be flyable we tell you as soon as we know, and the aerial portion is simply not charged.

Do you photograph the event as well, or only shoot aerials?

Both. Most events need photography more than aerials, and we cover the full event on the ground alongside the aerial sequence. If you need simultaneous aerial and ground coverage during the same window — which happens when the flying window overlaps with the opening of the event — we bring a second photographer, quoted separately.

Can you cover a multi-day event?

Yes, and it usually produces a better film. A setup or rehearsal day gives behind-the-scenes material and daylight aerials with no crowd restrictions, which cuts together with the main event far better than event-day footage alone.

What does event coverage cost in Goa?

It depends on how many days, how many hours, whether you need ground photography as well as aerials, and whether the venue needs airspace clearance. Send the dates and the location and you will have a firm quote the same day.

Send the date and the venue.

That's all we need to quote. Every shoot is priced on location, hours and deliverables — you'll have a firm number the same day, not an estimate that moves later.
